PA Books Inc. January 7,

Greetings and salutations this holiday season 2011.

You might be interested to know that my latest book, Parks and Gardens in Greater Paris, seems to be in supply now at Books Inc (Town & Country Village), and Stanford Bookstore, as well as William Stout in San Francisco and Berkeley, and online.

On January 7th I'll give a behind-the-scenes view of my work at Books Inc. and would be very happy to see you there.  Sales will benefit East Palo Alto Kids Foundation, the nonprofit that four of us set up in 1993 to provide small grants directly to teachers for educational materials and activities for their students.  A wonderful group of volunteers continues to personally review applications, track grants and raise funds.  It's a great way to make contributions that will be put to effective and immediate use for children in need.

Some local discoveries I've made recently include Stanford's Green Library, with is fabulous printing exhibit, exotic collections and elegant reading rooms, and the California Book Club, in San Francisco near Stockton and Sutter, that hosted Stanford's presentation of treasures from its archives.  Also the newly completed and greatly improved Stanford Law School complex contains an elevated garden terrace that is guaranteed to foster lofty legal thinking.  Hats off to Dean Kramer for a beautiful job of connecting the law school to the rest of the university, both visually and functionally.

Next year I plan to post new entries here more frequently.  I hope to have some information on the next project soon.

Best wishes to you and yours for a wonderfully festive season,
Jacqui

Arrivé

Congratulations to Dorothea and Axel Menges on producing a beautiful book!

Just in time for the Frankfurt Book Fair, it will be at their stand 8.0 0 949 from October 12 to 16.  Already it’s posted on National Book Network, their American distributor, at www.nbnbooks. Both bookstores and Amazon should be able to obtain it easily now.

Axel has laid out the book meticulously for exquisite effect.  Here’s the cover they’ve chosen.  How lovely to have it in hand!

Best greetings to all,
Jacqui

Welcome to my new blog and thanks for your forbearance as I figure it out. . .

First I would like to share with you my up-coming book to be published later this fall by Axel Menges of Germany.  Together Axel and his wife Dorothea run Edition Axel Menges, drawing on an international publishing team.  As an architect Axel brings an expertise in design and form;  Dorothea specializes in art, history, culture and film.  I feel honored to take a place in their list of authors.

Representative bookstores that carry their work include William Stout in San Francisco, the Art Institute of Chicago bookstore and Librairie du Moniteur in Paris.  To see their fascinating array of subject matter, please go to website www.AxelMenges.de
